ALDI has done it again! The supermarket has been rated Australia’s number one for fruit and vegetables for the fourth year in a row in Canstar Blue’s annual Customer Awards.
ALDI has been recognised as the cream of the crop for fresh produce, achieving an un-beet-able five-star score for three out of five categories against its rival retailers, including for “overall satisfaction”, “value for money”, and “freshness of produce”.
Group Buying Director of Fruit and Vegetables at ALDI, Matt Atley, says: “Winning this award really shows that at ALDI, low prices can also mean freshness. We’re really proud that Aussie shoppers keep rating our fruit and veggies as the best—it’s a reflection of the hard work and continued consistency from our Australian Produce Partners.
“It’s our close partnerships with local growers that make all the difference. With 97% of our fruit and vegetables coming from Australian farms we’re making sure our customers get the freshest produce every time they shop. From farm to store, we’re committed to delivering top quality at exceptional value,” added Mr Atley.
Canstar Blue CEO, Megan Doyle, says: “ALDI’s fourth consecutive win for Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customers – Supermarket Fruits & Vegetables Award is a testament to the value it provides its customers, particularly at a time when households need to keep a close eye on the budget.
ALDI’s win this year includes receiving a top rating of five stars from its own customers for value for money, freshness of produce and overall satisfaction – the only supermarket to achieve this result. The continued success in this category demonstrates ALDI’s consistency at delighting their customers, by delivering a range of products, that won’t break the bank.”
ALDI’s quality and value offerings have also seen ALDI recently named as Australia’s best-rated supermarket for Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customers Award for the seventh consecutive year in August and Supermarket of the Year by Roy Morgan for the fourth consecutive year in April.
The kudos for this award really is shared with the hardworking growers and produce partners that continue to deliver top-shelf Aussie produce to ALDI’s aisles.

Matt Palise at Red Rich Fruits
ALDI is proud to have worked with the team at Red Rich Fruits for the past 14 years to deliver the highest quality Pink Lady Apples to its shelves.
You know what they say about an apple a day, how about 2,356kg of them? That’s how many pristine Pink Lady Apples Red Rich Fruits produces each and every day for ALDI customers, equalling a whopping 860,000kg over the course of a year.
Matthew Palise, Managing Director of Red Rich Fruits, said: “We’ve been fortunate to work closely with ALDI to grow the farming, packing and distribution arms of our business over that time. It has been a great working relationship which has helped grow and expand both of our businesses. We are one of the last family-owned Australian apple businesses in the country and we are very proud of that.”
Partnering with ALDI so closely also allows Red Rich Fruits to focus on doing what they do best, growing the best Pink Ladies for our customers.
“It’s great to have a partner like ALDI so we can do all the work out in the orchards to make sure this beautiful fruit gets to the stores in the best possible condition,” says Matthew Palise.
Nicole Inderbitzin at Berry North
ALDI partnered with Far North Queensland based growers Berry North six years ago and they’ve been delivering delicious berries to ALDI stores ever since.
The average person eats about 3kg of blueberries each and every year, and Berry North is keeping up with the demand, growing a staggering 300,000 punnets a year for ALDI customers to enjoy.
“Over the years, as our supply out here on the farm has grown, this has been extended through to ALDI stores and their customers. It has been rewarding seeing our success in growing blueberries in the tropics. This journey hasn’t been the easiest, but it’s always exciting to head to an ALDI store and see our fruit on shelves,” says Berry North owner, Nicole Inderbitzin.
